What is inside
Select a layer to see what it contributes. The order runs top to bottom, from the surface you sleep on down to the base that carries the load.
The surface you actually touch. A soft knitted cover finishing the sleep side of the mattress.
A fire-resistant cotton barrier, included so the mattress meets required safety standards.
A natural padding layer sitting between the cover and the foams, adding softness at the very top of the build.
Gel-infused memory foam. It adapts to your body for personalized comfort while helping manage heat rather than trapping it.
The transition between the soft comfort foams above and the firmer support structure below.
High-density foam working with the coils below to keep support balanced across the surface.
Individually wrapped coils. Because each one moves on its own, they help reduce motion transfer — the reason this build suits couples.
The foundation. It carries the coil unit and holds the whole 12-inch profile in shape night after night.
Support
High-density foam and individually wrapped coils work together to provide balanced support, designed to help keep your spine properly aligned while you sleep.
The firm feel and responsive memory foam gently cushion pressure points around the shoulders, hips and lower back — the three places a mattress usually gets wrong.
Temperature and stillness
The memory foam layer is gel-infused, so it helps manage heat while it adapts to your body — conforming comfort without the trapped warmth memory foam is known for.
Each coil is wrapped and moves independently of its neighbors. That is what reduces motion transfer across the mattress, which makes this a sound choice for couples.
Comfort system
The eight layers above group into two working parts: a memory-foam comfort system on top, and the support core beneath it. How thick each one is, is the whole difference between the three heights — and the reason the tallest build is the softest, not the firmest.
Contours to your body to help relieve pressure around the shoulders and hips.
Combines balanced contouring with enhanced support to help maintain healthier spinal alignment throughout the night.
The build on this page. 8 cm of comfort and support above the coils, and the firmest of the three.
Breathable comfort, responsive support, pressure relief, and motion isolation for deeper, more restorative sleep.
Reinforced alignment support core maintains spinal support while increasing overall comfort depth.
Against the Premier 12″: +2 cm memory foam and +1 cm support core — 11 cm above the coils instead of 8. Half a point softer.
Premium gel memory foam comfort layers provide deeper contouring and body-hugging pressure relief.
Strong back support and spinal alignment for back pain recovery.
Against the Premier 12″: +4 cm memory foam and +2 cm support core — five times the comfort layer. The softest of the three.
Layer names, centimetre figures, cutaway artwork and the Premier / Pro / Luxe naming are BedStory’s own, as published for the SpineAlign collection — not our measurement. Thickness is chosen at checkout.
Back and stomach sleepers, anyone who finds plush mattresses sink too far, and couples who want the surface to stay still. That is the 12″ on this page.
Strict side sleepers who prefer a deep, cradling surface. The 14″ is the softest of the three at 7.5, with five centimetres of memory foam above the coils instead of one.

Within a size the footprint never changes — 60″ by 80″ for Queen, 76″ by 80″ for King — so any of the three depths fits the same frame. What changes is how much comfort layer sits above the coils, and the taller the build, the softer it feels.

Questions
BedStory rates the 12″ at 8.5/10 for support, its firmest of the three heights, and the 13″ and 14″ step down from there. Expect a supportive surface with cushioning at the shoulders and hips, rather than the deep sink of a plush mattress. If you want more give, go deeper: the 14″ is the softest of the three.
The coils are individually wrapped, so each one responds on its own instead of transmitting movement across the whole mattress. That reduces motion transfer, which is what makes this build a good choice for couples.
The memory foam layer is gel-infused specifically to help manage heat while it conforms to your body. The hybrid construction also keeps a coil layer under the foams rather than stacking foam all the way down.
It ships compressed in a single box, which makes it far easier to get through doorways and up stairs. Unbox it on your bed frame, remove the wrapping, and let it expand.
Two sizes: Queen is 60″ wide by 80″ long, King is 76″ by 80″. The full table of dimensions and weights is in Specifications above. Within either size the footprint never changes with depth, so a 12″, 13″ or 14″ build all fit the same frame. Check your frame’s interior measurement if you are working with an antique or custom bed, and check your headroom before choosing the 14″ under a low canopy.
